Founder of Tuintje van Adam
Chris started Tuintje van Adam with one mission: to show that healthy food can be grown in the middle of the city — circular, local and without waste. Today the farm in Amsterdam-Noord grows more than 24 mushroom varieties on residual streams from the city.
During the workshop he takes you behind the scenes of the high-tech growing rooms and shares everything he has learned in practice — from inoculating substrate to the perfect harvest. No question is too strange.

Is the workshop really in English?
Yes! The 12:30 session on workshop Saturdays is taught entirely in English. The 10:00 session is in Dutch.
How do I get there?
Take the free ferry behind Amsterdam Central Station, then bus 35 or 36. By car: parking at the farm costs just €0.10 for the first three hours (Meteorenweg 272, Amsterdam-Noord).
What do I need to bring?
Nothing — we provide everything. Dress for the season (the workshop is partly outdoors) and bring a big bag to carry your grow kit home.
What if I can’t make it?
You can cancel free of charge up to 48 hours in advance (within 48 hours we charge 50%, no-shows are charged in full). Rather reschedule? Your ticket stays valid for any other workshop date within 1 year.
